Recently I’ve been playing about with developing plug-ins for Eclipse, but it’s been 4 years since I wrote my last line of Java and I’ve been coding PHP ever since, so I’m having to completely re-learn the Java object model and Eclipse’s API.
The biggest obstacle has been finding decent learning material, there are lots of tutorials floating about on the web, but nothing beats having an abundance of simple examples to pull apart. So I place this link here for prosperities sake
It leads to a wealth of examples for creating Viewers, SWT Controls and other stuff.
Originally this domain was meant for an open source Project/Task manager which I intended to develop, but with work keeping me so busy and wanting to keep a personal/social life, I think that project was being a little too ambitious – So now I’ve decided to use it as a personal blog/dump/scribble pad, delete as appropriate.
Being one who loves to play, I’ve deployed this site onto a Virtual Machine, so I apologise now for any frequent disruptions, that will be me tweaking some settings on the backend. At present I’m toying with the Caucho’s Java implementation of PHP5, which means frequent restarts of Apache.
